Business Opportunity Lead Generation
Whatever your business opportunity, lead generation will make or break your business. If you have been in an MLM business for any length of time you will have discovered that making a list of family and friends will only take you so far. At some point this pool of people will dry up.
The more passionate you are about your business the faster this will happen. Ironic as that may seem, the more you sing the praises of your business the faster people will run.
You can attend all the conferences, buy all the books and tools and do absolutely everything your upline tells you to do but the time will come when this source of leads will dry up.
Your upline may tell you that you simply need to get a list from people that you show your business opportunity. Lead generation should be easy if this actually worked. How successful have you been getting a list from people? Now be honest. Personally I found it easier to talk to strangers than to get a list of names from people that I knew.
You may have heard of some other options like buying leads from companies or getting free leads online through various social media venues which I will go into on other posts.
I would come home from many a conference all fired up. I’d repeat the mantra: Just Do It! over and over. But do what? Make yet another list of family, friends and acquaintences? Long lost relatives perhaps? Or hit on some unsuspecting person in the grocery line up? No one in their right mind would do such a thing unless the carrot was so compelling that the end result justified the means.
So regardless of what business opportunity, lead generation is the achilles heel.
So what to do? There are several solutions that work both offline and offline. My best advice is to not throw the baby out with the bath water. If you are currently promoting offline for your business opportunity, lead generation does not need to start and stop with a list. More on that later.
